Free parking in Palermo is something that can be hard to find in the city center. Where to safely leave the car when coming from another region of Sicily?
Most car parks in the city of Palermo are marked with blue or yellow lines. This means that either the stop is paid or intended only for residents.
Being in Palermo, I have found a great option for free parking in Palermo dozens of times. The place is located right next to the old town, it’s not marked as paid and I’ve never had problems with parking there.
The area, however, does not look very interesting, as it happens in this city. However, I have never had an adventure with a car break-in or suspicious people circling around. Remember to hide any valuables that may catch the eye of potential burglars when leaving the car in the parking lot.

From here you have about 7 minutes walk to Quattro Conti, literally 2 minutes next to it is the famous market where you will find plenty of street food and interesting souvenirs!
